Roof Check
Common indicators your roof might need to be replaced or repaired.
Moss
Moss tends to hold water and moisture which can cause your roof to weather faster. Which means possibly having to replace your roof prematurely, routine roof maintenance should help with longevity issues.
Curled Roof Shingles
Curled roofing shingles can be a sign that there is a defect in your roof system. These defects can occur on organic-mat or fiberglass-mat asphalt roof shingles.
Missing Shingles
High winds or older roofs that have become brittle from age are common reasons of missing shingles. Choosing a roofing material with a wind rating in high wind areas may save you headaches and money in the long run.
Loose/Exposed Nails
A loose nail means an open hole, which can cause leaks and subsequent water damage to your roof.
Split Shingles
Split shingles are a tell tale sign that your roof is aging, which if not repaired could cause leak issues in your home. This could also mean that you may want to start thinking about having a new roof installed on your home.
Aged
You may need to removed leaves and other debris before a proper inspection can be done. Remember that a lot of leaf debris in the valleys, plumbing vents, or near the chimney can cause problems with your roof if not dealt with promptly at the end of the season.
Dark Patches On Shingles
This could mean that the granular coating of your roof is wearing away and needs to be replaced.
